How many miles are you supposed to change your sparkplugs?

is it every 5000 miles or maybe 10000..please help!!!How many miles are you supposed to change your sparkplugs?
Well, it's certainly not 5K or 10K. The only way you would have to change them that often are if your valve stem seals are shot, or maybe you're running way too rich, or you've flooded the engine. Even then, they could just be cleaned.

The exact recommendation varies, depending on what kind of spark plugs are installed, as well as whether it is a fuel-injected or an older carburetor engine, and what type of ignition system. Anywhere from 36K up to 100K, with Platinum plugs on a modern engine. How many miles are you supposed to change your sparkplugs?
Most of the cars from the late 80's up are in the 70,000 to 100,000 mile range for a spark plug change. The improvement in the ignition systems and the plugs has reduced the need to replace them. Your owners manual should give you a mileage figure in the maintenance section. How many miles are you supposed to change your sparkplugs?
Depends on the car. Check your owner's manual for the answer. How many miles are you supposed to change your sparkplugs?
To tell the truth your ear is your best friend. It depends on how well the cars motor is. But for everyday driving I would refer to vehicle maintenance book in your glove box. This should tell you what the manufacturer suggests and you should follow it as close as you can.

The maintenance schedule was spec for you by the engineers. How many miles are you supposed to change your sparkplugs?
You really don't need to change plugs that often , just check them every year, compare the spark plugs to a chart you can get in manuals or online etc that tells you if the plugs need changing or simply just a cleaning and re-gapping.

What I do is buy a extra set of plugs and gap them for the engine then once a yr I change the plugs and check the old ones and clean re-gap or toss them out.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way most ppl drive about 10,000 miles a yr and do yearly tune ups , plus most spark plugs will last a few years and well over 30,000 miles.
